Biographical or Historical Information
John P. Case (Naperville), H. R. Gregory (Aurora), and H. S. Wright (Naperville) created the Northern Illinois Seed Growers, Incorporated on June 27, 1938. A year later John G. Eenigenburg joined Case, Gregory, and Wright in the organization of North Corn Belt Seed Growers, Incorporated. On September 11, 1939 North Corn Belt Seed Growers purchased the original company, Northern Illinois Seed Growers. North Corn Belt Seed Growers produced and distributed hybrid seed corn as an affiliate of Pfister Associated Grower (P.A.G.) which was headquartered in El Paso, Illinois. In 1943 Eenigenburg sold his stock in North Corn Belt Seed Growers to the three founders in equal parts: Case, Gregory, and Wright continued to direct the company through the next several decades.
During the early 1940’s, P.A.G. provided central product development for Pfister hybrid growers. Pfister Associate North Corn Belt Seed Growers, together with twenty-six other member growers, purchased the entire Pfister corporation in 1943.
The North Corn Belt Seed Growers, Incorporated operated under its corporate name until March 31, 1960 when it became P.A.G. Naperville, Incorporated and the central headquarters for Pfister Associated Growers. Today the company operates under the name Agrinetics and continues to serve as a leader in the seed corn industry.
