The Regional Collections include original manuscripts and records generated by private individuals, institutions, and organizations from throughout the eighteen northern Illinois counties. The collections span the period from 1800 to the present and focus on several major themes in the region's history: agriculture, politics, ethnic heritage, commerce and industry, the role of women, and urban expansion. To provide documentation in these areas of interest the Center actively collects the historical records of farmers and their organizations, businesses and retail stores, state and local politicians, churches, cemeteries, civic agencies, individuals, women's organizations, and labor unions. In addition, the Center holds vertical file manuscripts, county and local histories, atlases and plat books, city directories, maps, broadsides, posters, photographs, oral histories, genealogical journals, and core reference printed materials on the history of northern Illinois that complement the manuscript collections.

All Rockford Party Records

Scope and Contents

Records in this collection partially document many of the activities of the All Rockford Party from 1957 to 1967. Types of materials include organization plans, meeting minutes and agendas, committee reports, financial records, platforms and policy statements, and membership information. Campaign materials and newsclippings indicate candidates and major issues of interest to the party. Other names used by the party were Greater Rockford Party and United Rockford Party.

Aurora Trades and Labor Assembly Records

Scope and Contents The records in the Aurora Trades and Labor Assembly (ATLA) Collection are arranged in five series and span the years from 1901 to 1984. Burlington Railroad Strike Collection (Aurora)

The records from the Burlington Railroad were donated to Mr. Flynn by a company official. These records include special agent reports, legal documents, and correspondence. The collection consists of the records of the DeKalb County Building and Construction Trades Council from 1950 to 2001. The records include administrative files, minutes, correspondence, printed materials, legal documentation, and audio-visual materials.
