Scope and Contents The Community Members Against Discrimination (CMAD) collection consists of administrative records, correspondence, research files, and newspaper clippings from 1998-2003. The collection also includes evidence of the group's support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community DeKalb County and advocacy of the DeKalb County and Illinois state non-discrimination laws. Scope and Contents The cookbooks in this collection date from 1912 to 2014. They are arranged by county and then alphabetically by the original creator of the cookbook. The collection has cookbooks from DeKalb, Lake, LaSalle, and McHenry counties. The bulk of the cookbooks were created by organizations throughout the northern Illinois region as a way to compile recipes and stories from its members. Abstract

Roberta Shoaf, Director of the DeKalb County Animal Shelter, donated the DeKalb County Animal Shelter Records to the Regional History Center on April 14, 2014. Property rights in the collection belong to the Regional History Center; literary rights are dedicated to the public. There are no restrictions on access to the collection.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of the records of the DeKalb County Building and Construction Trades Council from 1950 to 2001. The records include administrative files, minutes, correspondence, printed materials, legal documentation, and audio-visual materials. The records reflect the organization’s activities as a labor union. The correspondence includes letters from individuals, labor organizations, private companies, and public organisms. The minutes have many gaps, especially before 1980.
