Scope and Contents

The Forest Hare Papers date from 1960 to 1982 with the majority of the papers dealing with Forrest Hare's two terms as the Algonquin Township Tax Assessor. Records include information on assessment and property taxes in the McHenry County area, political candidates election brochures, Hare's testimonies on several house bills, and newspaper clippings.

Abstract The Regional History Center's postcard collection contains over 2,500 individual cards and provides a unique source for photographic and artistic documentation of people, places and events, the majority during the 1900-1940 period.
