Scope and Contents

The records of the E.C. Schweitzer business consist primarily of day books and account ledgers.  The day books date from 1907 to 1938, and the accounts books range from 1887 to 1912, with some gaps in between.  Also included are bills and a single correspondence.  Of special interest is a paper sign for E. Erickson’s Sons Company.  There is also a bill from E. Erickson’s and Son dated 1911 in this collection.

Scope and Contents

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra Collection dates from 1977 to 1998. These records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, grant applications, newspaper clippings, brochures and programs, as well as papers of incorporation, by-laws, and other reports. Also included are Kishwaukee Symphony associates newsletters, and program material. This collection, although not complete, will provide the researcher with documentation on the growth of the organization, and its musical programs.

Scope and Contents These records document the financial history of the Piper family hardware business from 1882 to 1972. The records are arranged chronologically by the type of document. There are business accounts, day and cash book registers for the years 1891-1960 (1916-1935 are missing), account ledgers and check registers for 1919-1963, and payroll and weekly time books for 1937 to 1970.
