Scope and Contents

The John Klima Papers consists of printed (paper-based) and handwritten manuscripts, along with a small amount of correspondence associated to those materials. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of Novels; Series II consists of Short Stories; Series III consists of Correspondence, Series IV consists of Electric Velocipede Magazine Material; Series V consists of Invoices and Contracts; and Series VI contains Miscellaneous and Series VII consists of Electronic Material. The majority of materials are organized within their series based upon original date of publication.

Biographical or Historical Information

John Klima was born in Wisconsin in 1971. He spent the first 25 years of his life in Wisconsin and moved to New Jersey to pursue a job in publishing. Klima is the editor of the science fiction magazine Electric Velocipede. The magazine has won the Hugo Award in 2009 for Best Fanzine. He was nominated for a World Fantasy Award for his work in the magazine in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2007, Klima edited the anthology Loggerea. Loggerea was nominated for a World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology.
