The evaluation meeting minutes provide continuity as the chairmanship is passed on to the next host church. The quantity and type of information... provided for each year varies considerably, with more information from the later years and less from earlier years. Only 1954 and 1984 have no information at all.

Biographical or Historical Information

World Day of Prayer is an interdenominational project for Christian churches worldwide. The worship services are generally prepared and delivered by the women of the various churches involved, with a different church being the host each year. Annual involvement in World Day of Prayer led to the development of the DeKalb United Church Women's Council around 1957. Some years a youth service and breakfast were offered. Some services... were broadcast over the local radio station. The day is sponsored in the U.S. by the United Council of Churches women's organization which offers organizational support and materials and distributes the offerings.
