Alma Alexander Papers consists of printed (paper-based) and handwritten manuscripts, drafts, and proofs. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels; Series II consists of short stories; Series IV consists of miscellaneous; Series V consists of media. The majority of materials are organized within their series based upon original date of publication.

Biographical or Historical Information

Alma Alexander is the pen name of Alma A. Hromic. She is the author of the WorldWeavers Series, The Secrets of Jin-Shei, and The Embers of Heaven, The Hidden Queen, and Changer of Days. Alexander was born in Novi Sad, Yuogslavia (Present day- Serbia). She grew up in various African countries, England, and New Zealand and moved to the Unitred States. She wrote and published a memoir about growing up in Africa. She wrote an episoltary novel with her husband about Yogoslavia and the NATO war. Alexander has published book reviews, essays, travelogues, poetry, and other magzine articles. Alexander won the 2000 BBC Short Story Contest for her story "The Painting."
