Steven H Silver Papers
Scope and Contents
The Steven H Silver papers contain printed (paper-based) materials and that consist of his short fiction, his reviews and edits of author's manuscripts, and miscellaneous materials. The collection also contains digital media from electronic mail. The collection is sorted into series based upon format. Series I contains Short Fiction and Series II is titled Reviewer & Editor and consists of material sent to Mr. Silver to be reviewed and/or edited. Series III is Digital Media and an inventory list of the author's electronic files is linked to their Archon page under this series. The hardcopy electronic files will be placed on the department's main computer drive in the author's SFWA finding aid folder titled under their name and identification number. Series IV contains Correspondence and Series V is Miscellaneous material.

Property Rights are transferred to the University Libraries per the signed Deed of Gift Document. Literary Rights are retained by the content creator. Any copyrights so stated in the materials remain in force.
Biographical or Historical Information
Steven H Silver was born in 1967 in Hinsdale, Illinois. He is best known for his work as an editor, publisher, and as a general fan of science fiction, as well as a bibliographer. In 1995, he founded the Sidewise Award for Alternate History and in 2003 he co-edited three anthologies with Martin H. Greenberg. From 2004-2012 he was the publisher and editor of ISFiC Press, published his first short story Les Lettres de Paston in 2008, and in 2009/2010 he edited the two volume Selected Stories of Lester del Rey for NESFA Press. Silver also has his own fanzine, Argentus, which has been nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Fanzine in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He has also been nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer twelve times. Silver is also involved in conventions and has chaired Windycon, Midwest Construction, and Chicon.
