Scope and Contents

The Michael Z. Williamson Papers consists of printed (paper-based) and handwritten manuscripts, along with a small amount of correspondence associated to those materials. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels; Series II consists of short stories; Series III contains correspondence; Series IV is made up of miscellaneous materials. The majority of materials are organized within their series based upon original date of publication and the dates on the various works. Biographical or Historical Information

Michael Z. Williamson was born in Birkenhead, England in 1967.  His family traveled extensively during his youth, and he lived all over England and North America, including in places such as Toledo, Newark, Mississauga in Ontario and the Isle of Wight.  In 1985, at age 18 he joined the USAF, and was posted in bases all over America, including San Antonio, Wichita Falls and Urbana-Champaign.  He has also traveled extensively all over the world, including in Europe and the Middle East.  His hobbies include writing, reading, historical re-enactments, blacksmithing, sky-diving, martial arts, shooting and archery.  In 1991 he met his wife, Gail, at a science fiction convention, and they currently have two children, Morrigan and Eric.
