Scope and Contents

The David D. Levine papers houses the literary works of science fiction author, David D. Levine written between 2002 and 2012, including early drafts, critiques, editor and publisher correspondence, and unpublished works.

This collection is arranged into one series with two sub-series. Series I consists of published short stories at various stages of the publishing process with early typescripts, edits, research, rejection letters, publication paperwork and correspondence emails. Levine attended the Clarion West Writer’s Workshop in 2001 with many of his drafts showing evidence of critiques from other authors within his cohort. Sub-Series A focuses on published chapbooks, including the award-winning “Tk’Tk’Tk’” and Sub-Series B contains unpublished short fiction.

Folders 6, 22, 25, and 28 contained private identifying information and were digitized and pertinent information redacted.

Biographical / Historical

David D. Levine was born on February 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Levine has written over 50 science fiction and fantasy stories. His story "Tk'Tk'Tk" won the Hugo Award in 2006, and his works have appeared in many prominent Sci-Fi publications. Levine is also known for his contribution to George R. R. Martin's bestselling shared-world series Wild Cards.and is a member of the publishing cooperative Book View Cafe and nonprofit Oregon Science Fiction Conventions Inc.
