Biographical or Historical Information
On September 13, 1937, eighty-one charter members gathered together in the Malta High School to found the Etna Grange No. 1890. During the ensuing years the monthly meetings were variously held at member’s homes or the local town hall. Grange membership sponsored dances, insurance programs, singing groups, sports teams and guest speakers. Interest eventually waned and in the early 1960s the Etna subordinate disbanded.
