Scope and Contents

The Kelly McCullough papers consist of typecripts for novels, short stories, poems, and presentations given by the author. A small amount of correspondence related to the author's literary works can also be found. Series I consists of novels within McCullough's fictional series, Webmage and Fallen Blade. Series II Novels, includes typescripts for stand alone novels some which have not been published by the author. McCullough was a member of various writers groups over the years evidenced by the critiques and edits on many typescripts written by his colleagues. The writing groups Karma Weasels, Wyrsdamiths, and Guts and Rocks are represented throughout Series I, II, and III. Series III Short Fiction and poetry, includes much of the work written by McCullough while a member of the aforementioned writers groups.

Series IV Correspondence and Series V Publich appearances and publicity consists of McCullough's papers relating to his authorial career.

Biographical or Historical Information

Kelly McCullough was born in 1967 in Grand Forks and lived in North Dakota for the first few years of his life before moving to Minnesota. There, he went to the Saint Paul Open School for eleven years, an alternative K-12 school. He attended Hamline University and later the University of Minnesota.

McCullough began writing in the 1990s and has authored works in fantasy, science fiction, and books for middle grade readers. He has two fictional series published to date. His WebMage series has 6 novels published and his Fallen Blade series has 5 novels. His short fiction has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies including Tor.com, Weird Tales, and Fantastic Stories of the Imagination, among others.

McCullough has also shown an interest in using science fiction as a tool to teach science as evidenced by his speaking engagements and public appearances.
