Originally the Deans of Men and Women administered housing services. In 1959 they relinquished this responsibility to a Director of Housing who regulated both on and off-campus facilities. Records in this collection are organized into two series: Residence Halls and Off-Campus Housing. The Residence Hall records include scrapbooks, regulations, manuals, and minutes of residence hall associations. The Off-Campus housing files contain records of the Householders Association, lists of off-campus facilities, as well as guides to off-campus living.. The majority of materials in this collection date from 1950 to 1980, with the exception of Williston Hall whose materials go back to 1915.

Scope and Contents The Student Housing Services collection is organized into two series, material pertaining to on campus Residence Halls and Off-Campus Housing material.  Documents in this collection date from 1915, when the first residence hall was opened, to 1982, with the addition of a 1994 Report on Student Housing.
