The Office of Public Affairs prepares news releases about the university's activities and grew from its predecessor, Regional Services which was established in 1953. This group consists of four series: the office's administrative files; serial publications; official news releases; and “Newsline” tapes (1975-1986). The third series is a chronological run of all press releases issued from September 1947 through October 1993. “Northern Today,” the office's official communication for faculty and staff, became an online news-source in January 2002. The materials in this collection primarily document the period from the 1940’s thru early 1990’s.
