The Northern Illinois University Foundation is a non-profit organization that coordinates various fundraising programs for the university.  These records contain directors' minutes, correspondence, and financial reports.  Also available in this collection is a history of the foundation.  The oral history interviews relating to its history may be found in the University Archives Oral History Collection (UA53).

Scope and Contents

The records in the collection partially document the NIU Student Loan Fund and the NIU Foundation from 1929 to 1992.  Most materials belong to the NIU Foundaion and include correspondence and financial accounts concerning the management of monies entrusted to the college.  The researcher should note that the University Archives also holds various other record collections relating in whole or in part to the NIU Foundation history.
