BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Gladys Larsen was born in DeKalb, Illinois on March 7, 1893. She attended the training school at Northern Illinois State Normal School when it opened in the fall of 1899. She later attended N.I.S.N.S. and graduated in 1911. On April 4, 1914 she married Henry Wetz, and in her later years moved to Roswell, New Mexico to be near her daughter. Gladys Wetz’s letters and reminiscences provide a wealth of information on the early years of Northern, its faculty and students, as well as information on the city of DeKalb. Information included in this collection includes several genealogy charts, correspondence, memoirs (early years of college and community), and photographs (including the Haish Mansion, and the Class of 1911).
