From the Sub-Group:

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Dorothy and Helen Corey were daughters of Frank S. and Caroline Corey. The family home was located near the Northern Illinois State Normal School campus, on the corner of West Lincoln Highway and Normal Road. Dorothy graduated from Northern in 1910, and Helen in 1920. Dorothy taught at Haish School in DeKalb for several years before continuing her studies at Carroll College in Beloit, Wisconsin, ca. 1914. Her sister Helen married Paul Arndt, and in the early 1940's the Arndt’s moved into the Corey family home, at 105 Normal Road. Members of the Arndt family continued to reside in the home until 1989 when NIU purchased the property. It has been the home of University Resources for Women since 1990. The Corey papers consist of Dorothy’s scrapbook for the years 1908 to 1913, and her photo album from ca. 1914 which contains a number of photographs of the Corey home on Normal Road, with the remainder of Beloit. Also included here are letters written to Helen Corey/Arndt from John Williston Cook, Swen Parson, and Willard Smith, president of the class of 1920.
