BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Born in 1919, Charles Canon received his B.S. degree (1946) and M.A. degree from the Teachers College, Columbia University and his Ed.D. degree (1956) from Indiana University.  In 1948, Professor Canon came to Northern Illinois State Teachers College from Collegiate School for Boys, New York City. During his years at Northern, Canon held the following positions: Instructor of Fine Arts, 1948-1951; Assistant Professor, Department of Fine Arts, 1951-1958; Professor, Department of Fine Arts, 1961-1979.
