Scope and Contents
The Illinois Art Education Association collection contains both paper and electonic records dating from 1931 to 2010. The collection contains bound volumes consisting of minutes, membership lists, correspondence, reports, proposals, newsletters and other publications by the organization. Additional records include the constitution and by-laws, IAEA handbooks, council meeting minutes, correspondence, conference information, financial records, membership directories, information about Youth Art Month, and their "Mosaic" Newsletter. Also included are notebooks of information compiled by Illinois Art Education Association member Emil Proska, and president and program committee chair files. There is a fairly complete run of the "Mosiac" newsletter, with the exception of the years 1996 and 1997. Publications from other organizations and audiovisual material such as photographs, slides, VHS videotapes, 16mm film, a filmstrip, cassette tapes, CDs, and an album produced by the Association also are found in the collection. Of special interest to researchers are the three scrapbooks dating 1931-1987 from the Around Chicago Art Educators.
