Contentions

The Rockford League of Women Voters along with the organizations DeKalb Area Alliance for the Environment (DAARE) and Sinnissippi Alliance for the Environment (SAFE) filed formal petitions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requesting public hearings on NRC plans to issue and operating license for the Byron Nuclear Power Plant. All three organizations were granted intervenor status. The records documenting the League's intervention... were donated by Betty Johnson on August 6, 1993. These records are organized using the same series and subseries as the DAARE/SAFE Collection (RC 212). This enables easier accessibility for the researcher when dealing with both collections.
